I have been involved in education since 2009, beginning as a student tutor teaching Mathematics and Science to primary school students. Over the years, I developed a strong passion for helping children learn and grow, which led me to pursue a professional teaching career. I later trained at the National Institute of Education (NIE), specializing in Secondary education (Science) with a focus on students with special educational needs. This experience equipped me with the skills to adapt lessons to different learning abilities and create an inclusive, supportive learning environment where every child can succeed. My most recent tutoring role involved working with children under the Yellow Ribbon Project, where I provided academic support and encouragement to students from diverse backgrounds. This experience strengthened my ability to build positive relationships with students and tailor my teaching approaches to meet their individual needs. Since 2021, I have taken a career break to focus on raising my three young children. Motherhood has further deepened my understanding of children's developmental and learning needs, while reinforcing the importance of patience, empathy, and effective communication. Now that my children are attending school, I am excited to return to teaching and continue pursuing my passion for education. Science has always been my favorite subject, and I am eager to inspire Primary 3 students to develop curiosity, confidence, and a love for learning through engaging and meaningful science lessons.

I am a full-time tutor specialising in secondary school Mathematics and Additional Mathematics. I hold a diploma in Marine & Offshore Technology from Ngee Ann Polytechnic and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from National University of Singapore. My academic and professional background has given me strong analytical and problem-solving skills which I bring into teaching. I have also worked in engineering and project management roles where attention to detail, logical thinking, and clear communication are essential. I am currently teaching upper secondary mathematics in a tuition centre and work with students of varying abilities and learning styles. My experience has taught me that many students struggle wth math because they lack a strong foundation or confidence. As such, I focus on helping students understand foundation concepts clearly and building their confidence and interest in the subject before progressing to more challenging questions. One of my Sec 3 students have improved from always failing math (E8) to finally passing math (C5). My teaching style is structured, patient, and step-by-step. I emphasise understanding over memorisation and help students identify common mistakes, strengthen weak areas, and develop confidence in tackling examination questions independently.

I started my career as full time tutor at tuition centre in Hougang. From 1998 to 1999, I taught at a tuition centre near blk 550 Hougang. I was at Learning Lab from 2000 to end 2001. After my A levels, I worked as private tutor too. I moved on to Learning Lab for 2 years and then I began teaching English creative writing to secondary school students as part of their enrichment programme. I also taught phonics. In between, I gave private English lessons to secondary school girls from SCGS. For the last 9 years, I have been teaching part time at High Q . I teach English and IGCSE English to international school students.
