I started my career as full time tutor at tuition centre in Hougang. From 1998 to 1999, I taught at a tuition centre near blk 550 Hougang. I was at Learning Lab from 2000 to end 2001. After my A levels, I worked as private tutor too. I moved on to Learning Lab for 2 years and then I began teaching English creative writing to secondary school students as part of their enrichment programme. I also taught phonics. In between, I gave private English lessons to secondary school girls from SCGS. For the last 9 years, I have been teaching part time at High Q . I teach English and IGCSE English to international school students.

Before anything else, I figure out what the student is actually struggling with as there is no point building upward on a shaky foundation. Once I know the gaps, we fill them first, even if it means going at a slower pace. That groundwork makes harder problems feel way more manageable later down the road. Currently teaching a JC1 student from YIJC H2 Math and Chem, JC2 student from NJC H2 Chem and a JC2 student from Hwa Chong H2 Biology. From there, I work through questions with the student rather than just explaining and moving on. It helps me catch any misunderstandings early and keeps the student actively in the process rather than just watching making the sessions more engaging rather than boring lectures.
