I have experience tutoring a primary school student in Mathematics and English, where I focused on strengthening foundational understanding while building confidence and independent thinking skills. For Mathematics, I emphasised clear working methods, model drawing techniques, and systematic approaches to word problems. I guide students to break down multi-step questions into smaller, manageable steps so they understand the logic behind each solution rather than memorising procedures. I also reinforce core fundamentals to ensure accuracy and speed. For English, I worked on spelling, grammar, sentence construction, and comprehension skills. I focus on helping students understand common question types, how to extract key information, and how to structure clear, well-supported answers. Rather than rote learning, I teach strategies to improve clarity, vocabulary use, and answering techniques that align with school marking requirements. In addition, I have worked closely with current MOE teachers to refine effective learning strategies and exam techniques that have consistently helped myself and my peers achieve top grades. I have curated a wide range of resources, practice materials, and structured answering frameworks which I adapt to each student’s level. My approach is patient, structured, and results-oriented, I aim not only to improve grades, but to help students develop confidence and strong academic habits that benefit them long-term.

[Full time tutor, completed BSc in Biomedical Science] I have had experience of teaching students as a private tutor for 8 years with 1-1 classes and a group class as well. I take in students from primary school all the way to diploma students with various backgrounds (e.g. special needs; ADHD, ASD, severe anxiety, low attention span, varying syllabus; international school as well as government school; including IB). These students have had varying strengths and weakness on which my lessons have been to strengthen those areas to get them to stand on their own feet even after the ceasing of tuition lessons when needed. I have worked mainly in a tuition centre specialising in English, with a strong focus on writing. I help students build clear structure and frameworks so they feel confident approaching composition, comprehension, and overall language skills. One of my students from Tanjong Katong improved from AL6 to AL3 in primary school, and I am currently teaching her in Secondary 1 (STEAM). I also teach Primary 2 and 3 students who have shown clear improvement in their speaking and writing skills. I have experience working with students with ADHD (4 students) and one student with dyslexia, and I adapt my teaching to suit different attention spans and learning needs. For primary levels, I support students transitioning from P4 to P5 and P5 to P6, preparing them for PSLE with structured guidance and engaging content. At the secondary level, I specialise in Sec 1 and 2, helping students adjust smoothly to the O-Level syllabus. I focus on building both competence and confidence, while creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
