I am currently working as a adjunct teacher in NUS High which takes alignment to the curriculum provided by MOE but with an added difficulty as the school do teach beyond the syllabus. Besides teaching at NUS High, I have been working as a part-time biology tutor since 2024, and most of my students have done well for their O levels in 2025. I believe my unique selling point beside being affiliated with MOE and NUS as a teacher, I am well verse quite a fair range of biological concepts, especially cellular, molecular and human biology due to my background as a graduate student in NUS. I believe I would be able to impart some skills and knowledge to better understand the content delivered in school.

I really enjoy working with young people — I’m currently volunteering in a youth church where I lead a group of students, so I’m quite used to engaging them and guiding them along. I believe learning shouldn’t just feel stressful or forced. I try to make lessons clear and also enjoyable, so students stay interested and feel more confident asking questions.

I am in MOE HQ now. I was teaching in Hougang Secondary School 2019-2024. Taught Sec 1-4 History / Combined History / Social Studies / Nutrition and Food Science / Food and Consumer Education Over the past 10 years with the Ministry of Education, I have grown as an educator and leader who is deeply passionate about student development, character education, and holistic learning. Trained at the National Institute of Education in History, Social Studies, and Nutrition & Food Science, I believe in creating meaningful and authentic learning experiences that help students connect classroom knowledge to the real world. I have mostly tutored primary school students as well as a few lower secondary students as part of my university hall's volunteering CCA, teaching Math, English and Science. I like to go for a more slow-paced approach, making sure my students are confident in basic and foundational concepts before getting them to build up to the topic being taught. For example, explaining the past tense and past perfect tense before tackling a passage that uses both in the same sentence.
