With 2 years of teaching experience, including tutoring at a registered tuition centre in Singapore and private tutoring, I am experienced in guiding students in answering questions, rather than relying on rote memorisation. I have one year of experience teaching a Primary 4 student, who improved from failing to a Band 2. I have also taught a class of Secondary 4 students (E- and A-Math), whose grades improved from C5 to A2 in just 3 months. I have also taught a Secondary 4 student (Pure Biology), whose grades improved from B4 to A1. Having just recently taken national examinations, I am more than familiar with the types of questions (theoretical and application-based) students need to tackle now. My teaching approach focuses not only on building strong conceptual understanding and clear step-by-step problem-solving skills, but also on creating a supportive and comfortable learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. I believe that the key to mastering a subject is not memorising, but truly understanding and making sense of the material, so that the knowledge can be applied to questions with novel scenarios. Patient, approachable, and attentive to each student’s learning needs, I believe that every student can improve with the right guidance and encouragement.
