Experience
I have over 8 years of teaching experience in both group classes and one-to-one tuition settings in China, specialising in Chinese language instruction for Primary and Secondary school students, with a strong focus on reading comprehension (阅读理解), composition writing (作文), oral communication (口试), as well as vocabulary development and advanced memorisation techniques. As a certified memorisation coach, I incorporate scientifically proven memory strategies to help students retain vocabulary more effectively and achieve measurable improvements in examination performance. I am well-versed in the Singapore MOE Chinese syllabus, including Primary (P1–P6) and Secondary levels (Express and Normal Academic), and I consistently stay updated with MOE assessment formats to ensure my teaching remains aligned with current examination standards. To date, I have taught over 500 students across various academic levels, adopting a highly personalised teaching approach that targets each student’s specific learning gaps while emphasising both exam techniques and deep conceptual understanding. My lessons are designed to be interactive and engaging, incorporating associative and visual memory strategies (联想记忆, 图像记忆) to accelerate learning and sustain student motivation. While I do not have formal experience teaching students with special needs such as autism or dyslexia, I adopt an adaptable and patient approach by breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, using structured guidance and visual techniques, and I remain open and committed to further developing my skills to support diverse learning needs. In addition, I have experience conducting online tuition, where I maintain high levels of student engagement through the use of interactive tools such as slides, quizzes, and real-time exercises, while ensuring lessons are well-structured, goal-oriented, and supported by continuous feedback to keep students focused and progressing effectively.
