Tutoring experience:
- I worked with Future Academy Singapore as an online tutor for 2 years. I was Involved in organisation of classes, providing learning materials and guidance for students during online study sessions for students between the age of 8-14 studying at international schools across China and USA. I taught mathematics across different levels equivalent to primary and secondary school maths. I also prepared some of my students for Australian and Singapore math olympiad competitions, has vast experience in managing children of varying abilities in math.
2. I was a private tutor for 2 years as well in Singapore teaching students between the age of 10-16 different subjects (primary and secondary Math, primary science, chemistry). Had the opportunity to work with underprivileged children and children with special needs. Many of my students feedbacked that they enjoyed my teaching methods and noted improvements to their examination results.
My teaching philosophy: As a healthcare practitioner, I had the privilege to work with patients of various socioeconomic backgrounds. I believe that my engagement techniques and communication skills would come in handy when engaging my students. I utilise my experiences as a tutor and a healthcare practitioner to nurture interest first, and to explain complicated concepts and ideas in a simplistic manner to my students.
