Have tutored my sister for her PSLE for mainly mathematics and english, both were students at Poi Ching School. Regarding her initial scores, I never had a record so not sure, but one scored 250(estimated AL9) and went to Anglican High. I also teach mathematics to my special needs cousin from pathlight school. I have always been the one that my family members reach out to to tutor my many younger cousins. I have the experience in tutoring them for more than a year, mostly for primary school mathematics and the occasional english. I am most comfortable teaching mathematics, and I often start with finding out the students weak points before beginning proper lessons. For many younger students, most of their weaknesses come in the form of not properly understanding the question, which I do my best to train them to, without giving the answers. Another experience I had teaching was to teach my classmates the entire O level pure chemistry syllabus. Our teacher at that time decided that the best way for us to learn was to teach each other instead of being taught by the school, so our classes for 2 years were mostly just me teaching a group of 4/5 classmates, after doing my own research at home. Most people around me would describe me as an enthusiastic person that won’t think twice before helping others. I would say that I am a patient person too, knowing how I am when I tutor others. These qualities helped me to graduate as valedictorian in my secondary school and I believe will be transferable to tutoring.

I have experience as a peer tutor where I tutored my juniors in Math and Physics modules in my polytechnic. I would coordinate a date we would be free and guide my tutee through questions they do not know how to do. I familiarize myself with the content so I know the different question types and answer techniques needed to score. I would help them write notes, step by step guides and summary that they can easily refer to, to refresh their minds before the test. I also try to suggest study methods that could help them such as compiling a list of mistake they tend to make and the right way to do it. I managed to help my tutee get A for her modules.

Full-time Teacher & Administration Executive Apr 2019 to Nov 2025 I am working in dual teaching and administrative roles in a prestigious Wang Learning Centre in Singapore. I have been teaching Chinese at Wang Learning Centre for 6 years, covering courses from N2, K1, K2, P1 to P6, as well as secondary school programs. Chinese is my mother tongue.
