With my tuition, 3 of the students successfully pursued their college dream in the US while my Sec 4 student improved her Physics and Chemistry from D/C to A2.

I have been teaching and tutoring for past 20 years, in India first and in Japan, China and Singapore in subsequent years. I am fascinated by different languages and hence I have been learning and teaching English, Hindi, Spanish, Marathi, Japanese and Chinese from basic to higher intermediate level. My last ten years, I had been a teacher in an international school in Singapore. I am more comfortable with younger kids from as young as 3 years old. However, I have also worked with middle school students and enjoyed academic challenges. I find tutoring most rewarding and fulfilling because I can connect well on one-on-one and identify my students exact needs. As a science graduate, I have been also teaching all sciences till grade 6-7. In addition, I am also a trained Yoga teacher. I firmly believe in all-rounded development as an important part of learning and growing. I speak good Japanese since I have lived in Kobe for six years and passed all JLPT exams. Following Japan I also lived in China for seven years and hence speak fluent Chinese.

I started tutoring English over 5 years ago and it still excites and gratifies me to see my student’s progress, watching them enjoying their academic journey and reaping the results of their efforts in the end. Through the years, my tutoring has evolved in many ways and I realised that it is a learning curve for me as well as for my students. I have had a number of students, mostly in Primary school. As for my Upper Primary students, I was able to give them the boost from a ‘D’ towards the end of Primary 5 to an ‘A’ for PSLE. Being a teacher, helped me to adjust my lessons based on the individual needs of the child. Studying about younger children gave me an insight towards language bridging between Preschool and Primary school and how to ease children into Primary School English.
