With 2 years of teaching experience, including tutoring at a registered tuition centre in Singapore and private tutoring, I am experienced in guiding students in answering questions, rather than relying on rote memorisation. I have one year of experience teaching a Primary 4 student, who improved from failing to a Band 2. I have also taught a class of Secondary 4 students (E- and A-Math), whose grades improved from C5 to A2 in just 3 months. I have also taught a Secondary 4 student (Pure Biology), whose grades improved from B4 to A1. Having just recently taken national examinations, I am more than familiar with the types of questions (theoretical and application-based) students need to tackle now. My teaching approach focuses not only on building strong conceptual understanding and clear step-by-step problem-solving skills, but also on creating a supportive and comfortable learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. I believe that the key to mastering a subject is not memorising, but truly understanding and making sense of the material, so that the knowledge can be applied to questions with novel scenarios.
