I have about 3+ years of experience teaching Chinese at home, mainly focusing on primary-level Chinese. My experience comes from systematically teaching my own children and guiding them through their Chinese learning, including vocabulary, reading comprehension, and basic writing skills. My teaching experience is home-based and focused on personalised, one-to-one guidance. This has allowed me to tailor lessons closely to the child’s level and learning pace, and to focus on building strong foundations and confidence in Chinese. My own children (local primary school) Initially struggled with Chinese, especially in vocabulary and reading comprehension. Scores were around passing range. After consistent guidance and practice, results improved to good passes and above performance well, with noticeable improvement in reading confidence and writing structure. Initially weak in sentence construction and comprehension. After regular practice and step-by-step coaching, results improved significantly. My teaching focuses on building strong foundations, improving understanding step by step, and helping students gain confidence in using the language. I am now looking to take on more students and apply this same structured and patient approach to help other children improve in Chinese.

I have taught over 10 students over the past 2 years of my tutoring experience. Many of my students experienced grade jumps from a pass to a high B. I specialised in teaching secondary school mathematics. After every lesson, I will send regular feedbacks to parents to ensure they are clear on their child's education journey. I am also available online 24/7, and try to answer any questions the students may have. My students have feedbacked to me that I am a very motivated and patient tutor which makes them less hesitant to ask questions in class. After every maths chapter, I also try to craft a cheatsheet for each of my students to ensure that they are clear on the topic before moving on. This helps my students draft a stronger foundation for mathematics. I believed that every child's education journey should be made an enjoyable one.

Instead of forcing content and concepts down students' throat, I believe in teaching them learning methods that they find engaging so that they can cross-apply such methods not just in the tuition subject, but across other subjects. Although grades are important, I believe in making learning engaging so that students are more than willing to think about concepts, vocabulary and classroom content beyond teaching time. Scored As for Math subjects across pri, sec and JC during national exams (H1 Math for JC).
