Experience
As a former student of The Chinese High School, I developed a strong foundation in the humanities and English at an early age. I was awarded the MOE Humanities Scholarship at Hwa Chong Junior College, reflecting academic distinction in language, literature, and analytical writing. I subsequently read Law at the National University of Singapore, graduating with Second Upper Class Honours (LLB).
I practised as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore for approximately 15 years, across litigation, general practice, and in-house roles. Legal practice is a discipline of drafting with clarity, structuring arguments logically, and communicating complex ideas in language that is accurate and accessible. I bring these skills to every tutoring session.
I am also a certified yoga teacher holding the E-RYT 500 credential, with extensive experience in one-to-one and group instruction. This has deepened my ability to adapt my communication style to individual learners, and create an environment where students feel genuinely supported.
I specialise in English Language, General Paper (GP), and essay writing at secondary and JC levels, as well as professional and academic writing for adult learners. My approach emphasises clarity of thought, structured argumentation, and authentic expression rather than shortcuts. Whether you are preparing for O Levels, tackling GP, or sharpening your professional writing, I offer a patient and rigorous approach tailored to your needs.
