I graduated from Hwa Chong Institution and have a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy. I have always had a strong interest in Mathematics, and it has consistently been one of my stronger subjects throughout my academic journey. I’m passionate about helping students build a solid foundation in Math, especially at the primary level where concepts are crucial for long-term confidence and performance. I believe in breaking down problems into simple, logical steps and tailoring my explanations to suit each child’s learning pace and style. While I may not have extensive formal teaching experience, I have taught a primary school student in one-to-one settings and have also regularly helped a Primary 1 relative with her Math. I’m responsible, approachable, and committed to helping students improve not just their grades, but also their understanding and interest in the subject.

Brief Description of Self: I’m currently a y3 undergrad in NUS studying Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Business Management. Am also currently applying for NIE as a PE Teacher. Experiences: - TeachSG with at-risk Primary 6 students at North Spring Primary - Peer teaching of modules in Polytechnic My most recent experience which is closest to this field would be the TeachSG’s Academic Coaching for at-risk Primary 6 students that I’m now doing under NUS. Needless to say, if I ever get this opportunity to tutor this student, I’ll try my very best to look at/for useful resources which can help him or her better their understanding in grasping the concepts. I do believe that Math as a subject requires lots of practice so by journeying with them I would be able to recall them as I do and even strive to make the effort in ways I can outside from school to help the student to the best of my ability. I’m always willing to do my best to help my students appreciate and love the subject more, ultimately doing my best in helping them achieve the results that they have set for themselves :D Teaching Style / Methodology I would first understand what are the areas/concepts the students are weak in and need help with. After I have identified those areas, I’ll would help them try to understand that key concepts clearly and fully before moving onto practices and papers perhaps. All of which, identifies the root cause first and then establishing a firm foundation in those areas before proceeding on. If needed, I’ll come up with a summary to help these students better their foundations and concepts.

I did relief teaching 6 years ago at Punggol Secondary School for almost a year. I also tutored 3 kids, 1 through PSLE, and 1 through his N Levels for English. I also worked as a part-time swim teacher and dance instructor during my time as an undergraduate. I was also selected as a Teaching Assistant during my undergraduate days. I am passionate about educating the young and I focus on breaking down complex problems into easier subproblems in every subject. My focus, however, would be primary school science and mathematics as I have greater passion in the sciences than languages.

I have been an English tutor for roughly 1 year since secondary school. I have created my own notes and practice papers for my students many times.
