He used to fail his math tests but during tuition classes I try my best to explain concepts clearly and through going through more practice questions with him, he managed to improve significantly from C5 to A2. As I teach around my area, they came from neighborhood schools, teaching subjects like English Math and Science. 1. 3 of my PSLE kids scored all As, with their initial results being Cs and just passing grades (EMSC) 2. 2 sec 2 girls teaching them science and math, getting only C5 and C6, and finally gotten B3 and A2 grades. 3. P3 girl failed English and Math initially, but now scoring As for both subjects. 4. P6 boy who was barely passing Chinese initially, managed to get an A for Chinese in the end. Having said that, why choose me over other tutors? I have been coaching secondary school students (both lower and upper secondary) during the past 4 years. Through the past few years of coaching, I realise the main reason why many students don’t achieve their desired results despite putting in effort is due to the fact that they are not able to identify the important concepts from the sea of information presented to them and hence are unable to perform during exams. Having just recently graduated from school, I am also able to put myself in the shoes of students – understanding what the common misconceptions are, their trains of thought. From there, I am well-positioned in guiding students to understand the concepts well. Also, for the Sciences, I personally believe and have applied a structured method of memorising key concepts and information, a skill set I hope to impart to my tutees. I believe that with a strong foundation of concepts compiled with a structured method of memorisation, doing well in exams would be a breeze. With the above-mentioned factors, I believe that I am able to help your child score during examinations. How will lessons be conducted? I will be going through the respective chapter in detail, pointing out the key concepts and helping your child with a chapter summary on the concepts to take note of (including formulae, definitions, and easy ways to memorise these information). I believe in creating meaningful summarised notes for easy revision in the future, without having to sieve through the whole set of notes/textbook for the important concepts again. From then, I would be providing topical revision material (TYS/ selected assessment questions) to reinforce these concepts with your child. Also, your child can feel free to consult me on his/her school homework and I am more than glad to help them with their assignments.
