I have had 2 years of private tutoring experience with A level students, and have taught H2 Chemistry, H2 Physics, and H2 Math. I have taught students from various JCs including RI, HCI, VJC, JPJC, as well as private candidates for A levels. I myself am an A level graduate from RI who scored 90 RP for A levels, A for Chemistry/Physics/Math, as well as Distinction for H3 Chemistry. I have a good track record in improving my student's grades, with my students improving from S/U at prelims to a B at A levels in 2019 after just a few months of tutoring. I am experienced in teaching the current A level syllabus and also provide additional materials as needed to help my students better prepare for exams.

I am an experienced English Language, English Literature and General Paper teacher at Hwa Chong Institution. More than 20 years of teaching experience. Current MOE Teacher (adjunct) I began my teaching career in Secondary Chinese in Pei Hwa Secondary School and Serangoon Garden Secondary School. Currently I am teaching at Yusof Ishak Secondary school under flexi-adjunct scheme. For more than 12 years, I have taught all streams and levels, and took on form-teachership as well. In order to get the students to do well, rapport building with students is the most important thing to get their trust and cooperation. So far, I have built good rapport with the students that I have taught. Through understanding students’ feelings and frustrations, I am able to motivate and push the students to their limits. As with all languages, improvement is not immediate. Students need to put in constant effort in using Chinese everyday. Their improvement in Chinese is slow but definite. My past and current students, as well as their parents understand this, and are willing to cooperate to work together with me for the long term goal. Currently, I have 9 students ranging from Secondary 1 to 4, taking Express and Higher Chinese, and 3 students in P5 and P6. Thus, I am extremely familiar with MOE syllabus and examination criteria.

Thereafter, there will be homework on that chapter practice + any new homework revision (if required from school). Lastly, there will be a practice paper on the chapter. Closer to exams, I will know what the student is weakest in and target that. My students have always done well in their exams, permanently scoring A and above or AL4 and above. One of my ex-foundation math students has even got the Best Improved Award.
