I am an effectively bilingual Singaporean who has experience in tutoring Lower and Upper Secondary students in Chinese and English since 2014. I can start immediately and have no problem committing a minimum of 1 year to a tuition assignment. My students have seen marked improvements in their results by a minimum of 3 grades since I started tutoring them. With a consistent A2 grade in school for Chinese and B3-B4 grades for English, I have also completed stints in English-Chinese translation and Chinese broadcast journalism at Mediacorp. I believe that a good tutor not only teaches, but also inspires his/her students to cultivate their love for the subject as well. I have been teaching since 2008, and hence is experienced in working with various students with different learning styles from both primary and secondary levels. I have been teaching part-time Chinese tuition for three years. Just graduated from Ngee Ann Poly Business, my GPA is 3.77/4, and I scored A1 for both Chinese and Higher Chinese back in CHIJ Sec, being first in the cohort. Having stayed in Shanghai China for 15 years, both Chinese and English are my first language. Therefore, I specialise in bilingual teaching, which helps me best to explain concepts and conduct teaching. I found out that this approach will help my students with deep understanding, rather than just purely memorising. I always patiently guide my students and encourage them to come out with their own answers, and then the student and I work on the answers together for improvements. Last year, my Sec 4 student improved from B4 to A1, and another from C6 to B3! I also had P6 students improve from C5 to B3. A few more have gotten satisfactory results as well.
