I have taught a total of about 20 students over 6 years at all levels. My teaching style has helped my students to excel in their studies and prepare them for higher education. At the JC level, I have helped students to pass their promos in order to progress to JC2. At the secondary level, I have helped students to excel in their studies although their lower secondary foundations were weak. Some went to Polytechnic and some went to JC eventually. I also taught international students and helped them achieve the top of the class. I am confident that I am able to unleash potential in my students at a sustainable pace and help them build or rebuild a strong foundation to prepare them for higher education.

I am currently teaching in a school at Yishun area. Previously taught in RI, RGS, ACS, Anderson, KCPSS Students from ACS , RI, SCGS, CGS, KCPSS, PHS, NUSH, NHH, HCI, VSS etc. I am an NIE-trained teacher, a PSC education scholar, with experiences teaching graduating and non-graduating classes of a range of student abilities: from Raffles Institution to Yishun Secondary School in MOE schools. I taught students of all abilities, ranging from high achievers from International Baccalaureate and Integrated-Programme schools to slower learners in Normal streams, using strategies for mindset coaching to motivate the students. I sought to understand students’ socioeconomic background, which are usually strong reasons for their academic performance and attitude, and mentored the students to overcome their difficulties at home. Students have achieved stellar results, with vast improvements from F9 to A within two examination timeframes. In this period, I guided and mentored four teachers at a time, some of whom are just starting their teaching career. During the COVID-19 period, I adapted the teaching to weekly sessions over Zoom, and answered questions over WhatsApp.

Hi, I am Sean Tham, from Hwa Chong Institution. I just graduated and completed my A levels recently. I was part of the Science Math Talent Programme in Secondary 3 and 4 as well as the Gifted And Talented Education programme in junior college and for my prelims, i was part of the top 25% in my school, with my math results being in the top 3%. Apart from being academically inclined, i also have a very jovial and fun personality which is bound to make tutoring sessions much more light-hearted and easygoing for the tutee. I believe in play hard, work hard as no child will be able to learn effectively under extremely stressful conditions so i hope i will be able to inject fun into my lessons while teaching tutees that certain topics are not as hard as they seem - we just need to pinpoint various patterns and question types in order to ace the exams. While i do not have any professional experience in tutoring, i believe that i will be able to push the tutee to reach greater goals and achieve stellar results as i have helped teach my peers who went from an E in Block Test to an A in Prelim for Chemistry. I used to work as a learning support educator at YWCA’s kindergartens for about 2 yrs and a therapist with special needs children at rainbow centre for 2 years, so I have taught kids with autism, dyslexia, ADHD etc. I have experience teaching pre school to Primary 2 levels for the past 3 years in a 1 to 1 settings in home-based and pre-school settings. I specialise in behaviour therapy but in my line of work, I work on academics as educational goals are also a part of my job, especially to prepare them for primary school and stabilising their standards after they enter P1. I am also trained in Jolly Phonics, a phonics programme used in many childcares and kindergartens in Singapore. I work with both mainstream children and children with special needs in the last 3 years.
