A passionate, patience, full of enthusiasm teacher and my name is Rachel. Being a teacher, no two days are the same. I get to teach different experiences and ideas daily and even learn while teaching, hence I decided to take this path of learning. I teach mainly the 4-6 year olds in classroom setting of up to 25 students which helps me to gain an ability to cater to a diverse range of learners and nurture them as individuals. It also allows me to learn to be well-organise and deliver the learning in a fun and engaged way. Being an experienced preschool teacher for about 8 years, This allows me to gain the knowledge in providing a more comprehensive, creative teaching and integrated, holistic approach to our young learners. I am a recent graduate from a local JC awaiting to matriculate into university. While I have yet to garner professional tutoring experience, I took joy in peer tutoring, so much so I was part of a pioneering batch of students that launched a peer-tutoring programme in the second year of my JC journey. My interests and strengths in the humanities are telling, especially in the areas concerning the English Language, History, Social Studies and China Studies. I received academic awards such as 'Top in Subject (General Paper)' ,'Top in Subject (China Studies in English)' at the 2021 GCE A'Levels and represented my academic institutions in multiple English and Humanities related competitions. I believe that the key to excelling in English and the Humanities is having a good understanding of content and writing frameworks, not memorisation.
