Enhance students’ comprehension skills by asking them extra questions on top of what the paper asks. Guides student to correct answer instead of giving the answer straightaway. Appeal to younger students by asking them questions on passages related to their interests, making lessons engaging and enriching at the same time. Math - Clear students’ misunderstandings. Give extra examples to drill the concepts into students. Give them summaries and tips on how to solve questions faster. During my time in JC, I provided help to my schoolmates on a daily basis, solving every problem they had and helping them to improve tremendously. Since primary school, I haven't been doing well for mathematics because of my incorrect approach and mindset towards the subject. It is only during JC, when I scored nothing short of an A for Mathematics. With that, I am more than capable of tutoring Mathematics at the primary and secondary level as I know the steps required for a student to do well at that level. I also believe in charging a lower rate because I want to be able to reach out to the lower income group whom can't afford to spend too much on supplementary lessons. Competency in mathematics aside, I can also give advice to students as a young senior as I am just a few years older (20 years old currently) than them and will be able to relate to them on many levels, namely the common challenges that students face.
