Chemistry and Bioloigical Chemistry - 1

Taught Chemistry as a full time teacher for 3 years and 3 months at Mathvision Enrichment Centre for Grade 9-12 students, across a variety of syllabuses. This includes: IB Chemistry (SL and HL), IGCSE Co-science Chemistry, IGCSE Edexcel Chemistry and IGCSE Pure Chemistry. I will explain the concepts to my students patiently by handwriting out notes neatly with different colors. Depending on the concept taught, supplementary notes, handouts and diagrams will also be printed to aid the student's understanding. I will rephrase my words/sentences or give different types of analogies with diagrams to ensure that the student is able to understand the concept. Questions will also be solved together with students to show them how to apply whatever they have learnt. Able to deliver content to the student clearly to ensure that the student gets the most out of the session. Patient, caring and responsible tutor who is willing to communicate with parents on a constant basis to ensure that the student improves. Responsive to answering messages promptly if students have any doubts outside of tutoring hours.

I have taught in Early Childhood Centres for 5 years and have obtained the Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (PDECCE). I have also obtained a certificate in TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) YL (Young Learners) Cambridge English to teach English from the ages of 4 to 10 years old. I have also obtained a Certificate in Teaching Mother Tongue (Malay) at Preschools and have taught Malay language to preschoolers and primary level children. I am able to teach and oversee both English and Malay subjects at the Primary school level, from lower to upper primary.

I have professionally tutored a primary sch student and a secondary school student for mathematics. At first both of them were rather slow learners, however I started to try out different methods to help them better understand the concepts which eventually worked. The secondary school student went from failing his math to a B grade which is a huge leap forward. Other than this, I have been teaching in a volunteer programme for two years now. The programme takes in students who are from difficult situations (be it broken families, childhood trauma or even learning disabilities). These experiences of mine definitely played a part in my improvement as a tutor. Right now, I am a tutor who focusses on customising learning according to the child's needs. This way, they get to learn better and would grasp the concept easily.

- Am a student with much experience in critical analysis and literature and have a strong and high command of the English Language. - Scored A for English Language in the PSLE (Raffles Girls' Primary School) - Scored A1s in English Language and Literature in English at O Levels (Cedar Girls' Secondary School) - Scored As in English Literature and English Language and Linguistics (ELL) in JC and was in the Hwa Chong Institution Humanities Programme as a scholar. (Also took Knowledge and Inquiry at the H2 level, which requires high skill in critical analysis and reasoning) - Willing to discuss realistic timelines with student as well as advise on how to practice and prepare for any examinations (including PSLE if the tutee plans to take the examination in the future). Will do my best to access to share what I know about the marking schemes for different papers and am willing to spend time going through these with the student to ensure they understand what is being asked of them to produce. Have experience marking and crafting lesson material for primary school students as well. Would prefer online tutoring as I am currently an undergraduate student studying overseas! Will be able to commit long term as an online tutor :) Am also pretty flexible with my timings and can discuss with my tutee by the week.
