I also teach at various schools as well as teaching centres. Most of my students have stayed with me for 3-8yrs, some of them having started their learning journeys with me at age 4. I believe that each child’s learning style is different and through assessment and observations adjustments can be made to cater to the individual needs of each child. Every child has the potential to excel! By harnessing and encouraging their individual learning style, they are able to make consistent progress. Providing tools and resources that they can use/apply effectively through engaging lessons help to draw interest in the subject as well. I enjoy working with kids and being a part of their holistic learning journey. It has been a privilege to have witnessed so many children grow in confidence and from strength to strength. ✨

I took the A levels in 2021, graduating with 'A's in Math, Physics and Chemistry. When I was in VJC, I was part of a year-long student mentor program where I taught my classmate physics. His grades improved drastically from an S to a C. I have a younger brother in Victoria School taking his O Levels right now and I have been tutoring him consistently this year too. My teaching technique is to firstly instill a sense of clarity within my student regarding the breadth of the subject they are taking so that they have an accurate understanding of the purpose the subject serves ie its application to real life and the kind of questions they will be getting answers to. This serves to cultivate an interest in the subject within the student which complements the next stage of feeding them with the relevant concepts. This stage aims to create a conceptually sound student who pays attention to detail and understands how the sciences and math complement each other. Lastly, the final stage involves building examination skills. I am well versed with the type of questions that a student can expect in his examinations as well as important exam skills like time management, identifying questions to prioritise etc which allows me to seamlessly identify weaknesses and either help them work on it or make them aware of it so they can seek help in those areas from their educators at school.
