I was born in China but grew up in Australia so am a native speaker in both languages. Teaching children is one of my passions because I love to see the progress they make over time. I try my best to cater to the needs of each student and enjoy exploring new engaging ways of teaching. I am an A Level graduate from NJC who recently finished serving NS. I was a section commander in 2nd Battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment and am currently waiting to enroll into NUS CHS as a Physics major. I am also planning to pursue postgraduate study at the University of Chicago once I am done with my undergraduate studies I have 1 year experience teaching PSLE Math and Science during my secondary school days and 1.5 years of experience teaching programming to JC students in my JC CCA (NJC BizTech). The primary school students had grade improvements from Fs and Ds to As and Bs over the course of a few months where we prepared them from SA1 to PSLE. I also have experience interacting with, and teaching different people with different teaching styles during my time as a section commander in NS.

I have about a year of experience. I was an assistant coach for a year at a drama & public speaking class for primary school kids. I also taught my niece Emath for about 4-5months before the O level, he studied at juying sec school. My nephew retook his O level because he initially scored C6 but on his O level retake he achieved B3.

I taught for about 3 months at a tuition centre for higher secondary grades. I have also taught for about a year as part of a volunteering program. I helped students with understanding the concepts, revising concepts taught in school and even helping them prepare for exams. Usually, I would start my lesson with a short recap from the previous lesson and then move on with the concepts. During lessons, I try and push students to think by asking them questions and encouraging them to solve questions without seeking my help. To allow for a more enriching learning experience, I try and test them orally also to help with their accuracy and speed. I end the lesson with a short recap of the whole lesson taught and some questions as homework. Based on feedback received by students, I received a 95% rating overall.
