I am an undergraduate studying Chemical Engineering at NUS:) I have always loved teaching as it gives me a sense of achievement whenever I see my students/peers being able to understand what I say and apply it in their academics. I have been teaching part-time since Aug 2022 and it has certainly broadened my skillset as a tutor and made me grow as an individual as well! Teaching Experiences: Subjects taught: Math (Primary and Secondary E/A Math), Primary Science (Relief), Chinese, and Secondary Pure Physics and Chemistry (Relief), I have a relief experience with a Primary 4 male who was really weak in analyzing and understanding questions. And through the videos and photos that I have sourced online to enhance his knowledge, he could take note of the summary points that I had given in that lesson and remember them really well. After subsequent lessons, I could see an overall improvement in his attitude toward the class and his answers becoming more well-thought. Currently, I am teaching two Sec 2 Male and one Sec 1 Male for Math. Before they were handed over by their previous teacher, they were lacking in basics and answering questions without clear thoughts. After giving them tuition, they are currently ahead of topics that were taught in class and now doing past year mid-term papers. I could see an overall improvement in their knowledge while having room for improvement in analyzing questions before answering them. In secondary school, I have also tutored classmates and friends in E & A Maths (they got an average of a B3 and above in OLevels from a C5) In poly, I was the Music Director of NP's Klavierensemble (Piano Club) in my last year of study. As a Music Director, I held online theory group classes for 8 students who didn't had any music background (Grades 1-3), provided class tests, prepared lesson materials and had 1-1 practical coaching with my fellow CCA mates. According to the mock tests that I had given them, all of them passed and 90% got a Distinction for Grade 1, and passed Grade 2 with two-third of them scoring Distinction. Some of my peers that I have coached also got selected by the Instructor to perform for our yearly internal concert in NP:) Teaching modes: Applying common situations for explanation and short tactics that are easy to understand. Hi, I have less than a year’s experience but I have done a few English lessons for my cousin and friends’ siblings. I also did peer tutoring when I was in polytechnic and scored Distinction in my Communications and Contemporary Issues module. I was the Vice President of the English Drama CCA in my secondary school and I have had many emceeing experiences ranging from within the school to GRC level. I have also won awards in public speaking and was the only one who scored full marks for oral in my Sec 4 preliminary exams. Other than oral speech, I also write a lot during my free time and avidly read articles while I am serving NS. In summary, even though I have little to no experience, I am eager to teach because I enjoy doing so!

I have been teaching Sec 3/4 E Math and A Math for the past 3 years. I am patient in teaching and I believe that my teaching methods are effective as my recent students, Sec4NA girl and Sec4NA boy, have improved from a fail grade to Grade 3 for the girl and Grade 4 to Grade 1 for the boy in both Math and Physics. Despite being an undergraduate, i am still in contact with Math as I am majoring in Computer Science which requires constant use of mathematical analysis to solve problems. Combining my experience and knowledge of current Math syllabus, I strongly feel that I students will benefit from my teaching and experience.

Math and Science improved from D to A in N levels, chinese basic improved from ungraded to pass within a month of chinese intensive. P6 student from Saint Gabriel’s Primary , taught him math science and chinese, chinese specifically improved from AL7 to AL4 in PSLE, his total aggregate improved from AL28 to AL22. Previously taught in YCSS for a semester as secondary 3 express and NA math co-teacher as well as secondary 1 express english teacher. I also taught special need students such as students that require more time to learn/ students with anger management issues. taught combined history for 2 weeks previously that range from sec1-2 classes
