I have completed Masters in Computer Application and I have worked as Software Consultant. I am very much interested in teaching profession. Around 4 years of experience I have taught phonics and also taken the primary preparatory classes(Maths, English & Tamil) for kindergarten students. I have been teaching Maths, English and Tamil language for primary students. Recently taking Sec 2 express maths. Also taught Maths, History, Geography, Science and Computer language for CBSE & ICSE students. Students are from Payalebar methodist kindergarten, Sarada Kindergarten, Yangzheng Primary, May flower Primary and DPS international School. At Kindergarten level kids are taught in such a way that they can read story books on their own. At primary level students have improvement from AL6 to AL2 & AL1 for maths, English and Tamil.

Experience: I have one year of tutoring experience for Cambridge curriculums, including IGCSE. Previously, I tutored two Grade-8 students in English and Science (Cambridge curriculum), and helped them improve their grades from Cs to As. I also tutored an IGCSE student in English, and helped her improve her grade from C to B+. Approach: My approach emphasizes practicing past papers and worksheets. I provide learning materials to tutees and guide them through the past papers or worksheets. I also let them take the past papers or worksheets on their own and explain any topics that they are not comfortable with. Volunteered teaching primary school students since 2019. Created study guides and practice questions with solutions for the organisation. Peer tutoring in Hwa Chong for H2 Math. Started part-time tutoring in 2023 after graduation from JC, taught math 1 P3, 1 P4, 1 P6, 1 Sec 1 (IP), and 3 Sec 4 (Exp A Math and Pure Chemistry) Currently (2024) still teaching Sec 2 (IP) student, got A in their EOYs. 2 Sec 4 students A Math improved from E8 to B3 and A2 respectively. I have served in the preschool industry in various capacity for about 21 years. I started off as a teacher and progressed on to become Centre Principal. I have degree in Early Childhood education and also a hold a Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy. I have a wide experience in teaching phonics to children aged 2- 6years. In 2013, while I was in transition phase looking for a job at a different school, I had the opportunity to tutor 2 siblings at their home, aged 4-6. I applied my phonics knowledge in tutoring these kids. It was a fruitful experience for me to see them progress from non-reading to reading children. Throughout my career in preschools, I have enjoyed teaching in class. My forte was phonics and Montessori Math. I have the confidence of delivering the necessary skills to young children to start writing and reading English. I am now retired from the preschool industry, but would like to pursue my passion for teaching through private tutoring.
