I have worked at a tuition centre called Math Vision enrichment centre where I taught students from various educational background such as IB , IGCSE , A levels and also a few introductory coding lessons for university students. I also had the oppurtunity to teach web development using Flask and Django to a few students who requested for it. As a full stack developer, I found this enjoyable and rewarding. Moving on to university where I will be studying computer science, the experience from tutoring will also help me as a student by allowing me break down concepts to simpler blocks just like I do with my students. Moreover , I had the oppurtunity to create new assessment plans and homework for students for them to reinforce their learning.

I've always tutored other sec1-3 students for math and physics. I am currently on trial to teach at a tuition center(H2 physics) I am a JC graduate that deeply understands the struggles of performing in examinations. I have failed school examinations before in both JC and secondary school, scoring under 30% in some instances. Yet I've still managed to consistently score As for all subjects in As and Os with confidence. Why is that? Cambridge examinations are, at their core, formulaic. Once you've grasped the simple core concepts of a subject, you don't need fancy solving methods for specific questions or advanced memorization techniques. I am going to teach you/your child how to break down the seemingly vast quantity of content into simple core concepts and apply them to score in examinations without having to study for hours and hours a day. I understand the struggles of doing revision and papers day after day, struggling with applying certain concepts, and barely improving a grade. I am going to actualize that effort into improvement by making your study methods efficient, applicable and replicable.

I have taught for 5 years since prior my undergraduate days, where I focussed on  identifying weaknesses and then, crafting out a personalized plan to tackle individual needs. I provide a consultation and whatsapp helpline after the class, together with setting mock exams for students. These methods have helped many students achieve significant grade improvements i.e. from D7 to A1 (Sec 3 Bio), B4 to A1 (Sec 2 Eng) in less than a year. I am confident that I can bring value to future students! I believe in constructing a positive, friendly environment as it would facilitate the formation of strong bonds between student and teacher. Only then, would they be more willing to learn, more daring to ask questions and be able to absorb more information. Also, I find that students might not know the parts of the textbook to study, which is why I formulated my own guidebook to solve such issues. My guidebooks range from maths to science, as a collaboration with my boyfriend, to help students understand concepts better, as opposed to technical jargon and overloaded content from conventional books. I also encourage off-hour consults as it is necessary for students to clarify any doubts they have asap. I have my own resources, ranging from my own notes to test papers. I believe in constantly keeping parents in the loop, to keep them updated about the progress of their child, such that the tutor and parents are able to devise suitable strategies to bring out the best in their child.
