I am a hardworking, dedicated and compassionate educator with over 4 years of experience working with young children, including those with special needs. I used to be a medical doctor from 2015-2020 who have dealt with special needs children with learning differences, including autism, and ADHD. By combining my understanding of child development with a focus on personalized education, I want all the children to receive the support they need to be able to thrive socially and academically. Currently I am a fulltime tutor with 12 students in various levels. Besides that i am multilingual in Chinese, Malay, English and Math for primary school children. I like to introduce children to the nature via engaging activities to stimulate critical thinking. I understand that children with learning differences or special needs require tailored instruction customized to each individual, and i will adapt the teaching techniques to meet the individual needs of my students. My approach is based on patience and empathy, to create an environment that encourage my students to be determine to succeed. I also teach holistically, focusing not just on academic success but importantly on social and emotional development. My teaching style also ensures that every child feels confident, strive to learn and safe.

I have about 15-20 students so far and all of them have shown significant improvements in their end of year exams last year with about 5 students going from a fail to pass grade!

Previously taught PSLE and lower secondary math and science So being a student myself, i was blessed with many useful teachers that had many interesting ways of helping me understand certain subjects - be it ways to understand and memorise science contents or methods of problem solving in maths that made it super easy to score! I tend to ask questions about the topic or give thought-provoking questions outside of the topic during my lessons to reaffirm their understanding whilst also giving them more knowledge for future studies as well as application in tricky questions. More often than not i find myself teaching my classmates through certain abbreviations and/or memorisation techniques that make understanding so much easier and learning so much more enjoyable! Finally I am flexible with my schedules as well as the itineraries for the session - if you have any!
