I have been giving tuition since JC and have 17 years of full-time experience in tutoring Secondary 3 - 4 Express Pure Chemistry. I have also taught at tuition centres. Currently, I’m teaching 2 Secondary 4 Express Pure Chemistry students and 2 Secondary 3 Express Pure Chemistry students Last year, I taught the Secondary 4 Express students Secondary 3 Express Pure Chemistry. Hence, I’m experienced in preparing students for their ‘O’ Level examinations. All of my students improved greatly in their grades. All of them scored ‘A’s for Express Pure Chemistry in their school and ‘O’ Level examinations.
Academic Credentials
I graduated with a Bachelor degree in Science (Pharmacy, First Class Honours) from a prestigious University, the National University of Singapore.
I was offered 2 MOE Scholarships in Secondary School and JC.
I was admitted into Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and was offered a scholarship by the Vice-Dean.
I scored an ‘A*’ for Science in my PSLE.
I gained admission into the Special Stream of a SAP School, Chung Cheng High School (Main). And I was in the top Triple Science (Chemistry, Biology and Physics) class in Secondary school. I scored 10 'O' level distinctions (all 'A1's, including Pure Biology). In addition, I was the top student in the entire school in my Secondary 4 Preliminary Examinations. Lastly, I was among the top of the class and cohort for many subjects - like Science. In My ‘O’ Levels, I obtained ‘A1’s for Pure Chemistry, Pure Physics and Pure Biology.
I attended a top 5 JC, namely Temasek Junior College and was in the top Triple Science class. I was a top Science student and was the only ‘A1’ scorer in the whole level for a Semestral Assessment. I also participated in a National Science competition and won the championships. Moreover, I was among the few who passed the intensive academic and aptitude tests to be selected for admission into a Science immersion program, "Science Vision", conducted by the National University of Singapore. I also conducted a Science Research Project in JC. Thereafter. I was selected to represent Singapore as a National Representative at an International Science festival and competition. Lastly, I won an International Science research award. In my ‘A’ Levels, I scored ‘A1’s for Chemistry (H2), Physics (H2), Biology (H2), Chemistry Special Paper (H3) and Biology Special Paper (H3).
Teaching Abilities
I am patient, creative and flexible in customising the lessons to meet the unique learning needs of the students. I emphasise on imparting understanding of concepts to students, and training them to analyse and answer questions completely correct fast enough to ace the examinations. Furthermore, I provide easy-to-remember tips to remember concepts and facts. I also motivate students to enjoy lifelong learning. I enjoy teaching students to apply the knowledge that they acquire to answer questions and to benefit their personal lives. In addition, I excel at building the concepts. I am passionate about learning and imparting knowledge to the next generation. Lastly, I encourage and stimulate my students’ interest in learning.
