As an after school care teacher from May 2016 – Jan 2019 at Gems Tutorial Centre, I taught Math and Science to classes of 10 – 20 Primary 1 to 4 students. As a private tutor, I've taught a PSLE (2020) student Math since she was in P4. She was on the verge of falling to Foundation Math as she was scoring single-digit failures. However, under my guidance, she managed to improve and was scoring 40-50/100. Her teacher and parents feedback that she has gained more confidence in Maths and thus her teacher allowed her to stay in Standard Maths in P5. Currently teaching 1 P4(2022) Maths student, 1 P5(2022) Math & Science Student, 1 P6(2022) Math & Science Student. P4 Math student was scoring average 80s in P3. P5 Math & Science failed both subjects (Math: 19/100, Science: 28/100) in P3 but managed to score 51/100 & 52/100 for Math and Science respectively during his P4 Mid Year Review after I started teaching him in Dec 2020. P6 Math & Science student was scoring average 60s but she was top in class for Science scoring 80s in her P5 Mid Year Review and scored 71 in her final year examinations. From 2017-2018, I have tutored a few students for their ‘O’ Level E. Math and A. Math, during which I focused on their understanding and application of concepts. The students have displayed marked improvement in the subjects, which enabled them to apply the concepts flexibly to different sets of problems, which is an increasing trend in today’s examinations. I work closely with my students to understand which topic they are weaker in and need more help. After which, I will spend time going through and revising with the concepts requested before making them do some practices. After which, I would retest them over the next few weeks by coming up with variations of the question they got wrong previously to test their concept understanding. I am also able to come up with step by step math notes should the students require more help in tackling certain questions. I also received feedback from my students that I am very patient and dedicated to helping my tutees understand the concepts better. I do not believe in scolding my tutees and I have a friend-like relationship with them. I think that having a friend-like relationship with my students will allow them to be more comfortable with me which will allow them to ask me any questions freely. I will also supplement teachings with my own materials, such as revision notes, timed assignments, question banks and additional practice papers. I come up with additional questions for mini quizzes and tests tailored to the student's needs. For instance, if I see that the student is lacking in logarithm questions, I will come up with new questions testing the concept which he previously did not understand. I believe that the key to acing Math is constant practice, and this belief has benefitted my students, who have experienced at least one grade jump within a span of a year.

Grades in Primary school maths was A, studied in CHIJ Primary (Toa Payoh). Secondary maths was B3-A2, studied in CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) Taught tuition for about 4-5 years. Had students from different schools, usually teach english chinese and math, my last student was from CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace. Math was from a D to a B I have taught tuition voluntarily to children from low-income families and their grades on average have improved. One child's math improved from 53 to 65. I have also taught tuition as a part-time tutor to 3 children. I'm currently teaching a P3 student and his grades have improved from a fail to a pass.

i have 1 year tutoring experience for p6,p2,p3 and p4. I taught them maths, english, malay and science. All students improved tremendously and have had jumped from fail grades to a B3 and B3 to A1. My teaching methods are using more of visual aides and also by having different but fun ways of memorising facts for subjects like science. My approach ensure students have fun learning but at the same time it doesn't compromise the learning process. Their initial scores were from a fail to a 60+ score for english, 50 range to a 70+ for maths, 40 range to a 70+ for science and 40range to an 80+ for malay.

I am a doctorate holder in law with a masters degree and an honours degree in Sociology. I have taught students from both NTU/NUS as well as students in private universities. I started teaching English and General Paper since 2013 and I have been running my own education consultancy since 2016. The students I have taught went on to achieve an improvement of 2 grades 85% of the time and 75% of these students have received the elusive "A" grade in the examinations.
