I have 1 year experience of teaching for the IGCSEs and IB Examinations at Mathvision Tuition Centre. I mainly teach Chemistry and Biology. My teaching methods mainly involve going through a specific topic with the student each session and writing handwritten notes for each topic. If the student prefers writing their own notes that can be done as well. This is then followed by assigning homework from assessment books or past year papers to consolidate their understanding of the topic.

I have taken a class sizes of about 7-10 students during my secondary school days teaching at a church on a volunteering basis. I taught them English, Math and Science each for about 90 mins. I was volunteering at the centre for about 2 years from 2015 to 2016. I planned the syllabus for them to follow and activities for them to do given that classes can be really dry. By the end of each year and during their midterms, my students would come to me and thank me for helping them improve their grades - some from failing to a band 2 on the midterms and by the end of the year they reached band 1. Apart from the volunteering stint, I also supplemented my income during my poly days as well where I took a Primary Four girl for a year and through the method I developed teaching primary keys prior, she reported an improvement in her grades for Math and English (the topics I took her for) from a Band 4 and 3 respectively to a Band 2 and 1 respectively.
