I have taught for over 5 years, teaching over 30 students Sec 2-4 Chemistry, Biology from schools like Bukit Panjang Govt High, Nanyang Girls High, Raffles Institution, NJC, River Valley High, Yuying Secondary, Fuhua Secondary, Dunearn Secondary and Jurong Secondary. Many of my students have seen improvement in their results. For example, my students from BPGH have seen their Biology results improve from C6 to B3 in 1 year. I also have River Valley Biology students who improved from F9 to A2 within 2 years of my class. I have also taught a Jurong Secondary School girl, and her results have improved from E8 in Sec 2 to A2 in O-Levels. For my current students, within 1 year, 1 of them has scored E8 to A1. The other scored F9 to B4 within Aug to Oct. When I first meet the student, I will go through topics, then give them assignments. Once they are done, I will mark these assignments and give feedback on misconceptions and answering techniques and these assignments will progress in difficulty. I will also assign tuition homework that is to be completed and sent so that I can immediately go through when the lesson starts. I like to provide monthly feedback to their parents about their progress, so that the parent is also able to understand what steps to take to help the student study better.

I am diploma holder from Singapore Polytechnic (Dip. in Creative Writing for Television and New Media). Academic Accomplishments - PSLE English: A - O Level English: A1 - Top 25% in Polytechnic cohort Details of experience: I am currently tutoring a Primary 1 student English. I have a monthly schedule that details the routine for each lesson. I also track her assignments and assess her weak spots. Each lesson starts with a reading aloud session, which I will focus on the student's reading abilities while expanding her vocabulary. After which, we will have a self-practice session where I assign her work related to her weaknesses (for e.g. grammar, adverbs). I will use this time to mark and evaluate her homework. Afterwards, I will mark her self-practice and go through her mistakes, along with her homework. I believe in the being patient because while English is a critical subject to master, it is important to put ourselves in the students' shoes to understand their struggles better. English has always been my forte so I would like to use my strength as a means to teach little ones. I tailor lessons to the students' needs and weaknesses. Homework is usually assessment papers which follow the latest MOE syllabus. Patience, guidance, and sufficient practice are all vital to their learning. I also recommend educational shows to parents so that their children can be fully immersed in learning, even outside of lessons and the classroom.
