One had a initial score of C5 and improved to a A2. I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Applications and have a strong passion for the teaching profession, with over 7 years of experience in Primary and kindergarten education. At the primary level, I have been teaching Mathematics, English, and Tamil, catering to a range of student needs and academic levels. I have taught phonics, and conducted preparatory classes for Math, English, and Tamil for Kindergarten students. My students come from schools such as: Yangzheng Primary School, Mayflower Primary School, Sengkang Green Primary Schooletc Also from Payalebar Methodist Kindergarten, Sarada Kindergarten, Mayflower Kindergarten Notably, in primary-level Math and Tamil, a significant number of my students have shown marked academic improvement, progressing from AL6 to AL2 or AL1 under my guidance. At the kindergarten level, my students have built strong foundational skills, especially in phonics and number sense, which have helped them transition smoothly into the primary curriculum with confidence and readiness.

I have served in the preschool industry in various capacity for about 21 years. I started off as a teacher and progressed on to become Centre Principal. I have degree in Early Childhood education and also a hold a Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy. I have a wide experience in teaching phonics to children aged 2- 6years. In 2013, while I was in transition phase looking for a job at a different school, I had the opportunity to tutor 2 siblings at their home, aged 4-6. I applied my phonics knowledge in tutoring these kids. It was a fruitful experience for me to see them progress from non-reading to reading children. Throughout my career in preschools, I have enjoyed teaching in class. My forte was phonics and Montessori Math. I have the confidence of delivering the necessary skills to young children to start writing and reading English. I am now retired from the preschool industry, but would like to pursue my passion for teaching through private tutoring.
