Hello, I’m Nicolas, and I’ve spent the last 20 years studying in Singapore. As a student, I often heard teachers say, "Understand, don’t memorise," but I didn’t grasp what true understanding meant. I will be enrolling in a local medical school next year. Every single student is different. There are Chinese speaking children who are not so good at English, and English speaking children who are not so good at Chinese. To excel in English the students need to know vocabulary and form sentences to familiarize. All the grammar structure must be mastered well. To excel in Chinese, han yu pin yin must mastered well. Characters writing must know well. Science knowledge must know all the facts clearly.
