I have a one year experience tutoring a K2 child and a Primary 6 child. The K2 child has improved a lot and become more confident in her schoolwork, while the P6 child improved from AL 28 in 2022 to AL 19 in 2023. Earlier this year, I have worked as an assistant teacher at a preschool for half a year, so I have had experience working with children from ages 2-6. A student who studied at St. Gabriel's Secondary improved his grades from C5 to B3 When I take on a new student, I will first assess his language ability by conversing with him, reviewing his work at school, and getting him to do some exercises appropriate for his level. After ascertaining his ability, I will guide him by focusing on what I believe are his weaknesses, particularly those which require special attention that his teacher at school cannot provide due to various constraints such as time or opportunity. Along the way, I will monitor the progress of the student and teach in a way which I believe best complements what he learns at school. I believe as a tutor, my role is not to replace or compete with school teachers. Instead, I am there to support the student so that he receives guidance in areas of need.
