Speech training journey: secured a session with a 6-year-old boy suspected of having ADHD. While I initially faced challenges teaching him, with patience and various interaction approaches, he gradually improved his attention span, behavior, and speech. Within three months, he progressed from being unable to face his parents to confidently presenting a skit to them. Another 6-year-old child I tutored showed significant improvement in speech and pronunciation but discontinued after a month due to the first child's disruptive behavior. I then obtained my third tutoring session with an 8-year-old girl who was too shy to speak up. Through focused efforts on sentence structure and confidence-building, she was able to perform a skit for her parents within two months, though my slot was later taken by a full-time trainer. Tuition journey: I also worked with a non-local 6-year-old girl struggling with English, who had failed three times and had poor pronunciation. After two months of tutoring, she greatly improved in sentence structure and pronunciation, eventually passing her exams. Another non-local boy, hyperactive and in need of tutoring in English, Math, and Chinese, showed slight improvement after three lessons but discontinued thereafter at his parents' decision. Right now i have 2 active classes. Hyperactive K2 non-local girl, who has shown progress in speaking and comprehension within the first month and a half. A new k1 local girl who just started first class, needs help with her speech and understanding.

I have 7 years of teaching experience with students ranging from kindergarten to junior high school, all of which are areas I excel in. I have an IELTS score of 7.5 and hold certificates for teaching English in Chinese primary and junior high schools. Currently, I am pursuing a Master's degree in Education English at Nanyang Technological University. I'm looking for a part-time job and I am currently inclined towards teaching junior high school students, but can also consider teaching elementary school students later on. I was educated in Methodist Girls' School (O-Levels), following which Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) for IBDP and placed on the Dean's List for Chemistry. I did my extended essay in Chemistry and scored Grade 7 for HL Mathematics, HL Physics, HL Chemistry, and SL Economics in 2013. Graduated from Singapore Management University in 2018 with a double degree in Business Management and Accountancy, summa cum laude (perfect GPA of 4.00). Full time tutor and was a teaching assistant for multiple accounting modules like Financial Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Taxation, Intermediate Financial Accounting & Auditing for the Public Sector. Past experiences: I teach IB HL/SL Chemistry & Mathematics as a home tutor. Having gone through IBDP myself, I follow the IBDP curriculum closely and only use IB materials & questions. One of my HL Chemistry students from ACS (Independent) was weak in Chemistry and scored Grade 4 during his Year 5 Mid Term Exam and Final Examination. Under my guidance, he improved and eventually scored Grade 7 for his IB Examination. Also, I helped him with his Internal Assessments and Chemistry Extended Essay. I am able to handle students of different proficiencies and believe that consistent practice will help students to improve by reducing careless mistakes. Also, practising various questions allow students to internalise concepts and apply them to any type of question. Similarly, I coached an international student in HL Math & HL Chemistry throughout her 2-year IBDP journey. Under my guidance and testimony of my teaching, she has been consistently scoring Grade 6/7 (75 and above) for her midterms and finals. She took the May 2018 IB exams and attained stellar results of Grade 7 for HL Chemistry and Grade 6 for HL Mathematics.

I have provided free tuition to my relatives children regarding primary school Mathematics, Science and English. I prefer taking a method where are I guide students through questions rather than give them the answers immediately so that they can make realizations on their own and grasp concepts better. Asking questions provokes their thinking and helps them arrive at solutions and understandings on their own, which is why I personally feel that they learn better from that. I am capable of breaking down complex and intricate ideas into analogous digestible bits for them to understand and have strong philosophy regarding practicing what they have learnt immediately to reinforce new information.

I am a patient and enthusiastic tutor who specialises in molding my tutoring to my tutee's different styles of learning.
