Experience
I have two years of teaching experience and am skilled in building strong rapport with students while providing structured guidance to help them prepare effectively for examinations. I provide lesson materials such as clear notes, guided practices, and targeted exercises, and I focus on reinforcing topics that students may be weaker in. I am patient and understand that every student learns at their own pace, and I am committed to providing consistent support to help them grasp challenging concepts with confidence.
I am also highly adaptable in my teaching approach. I recognise that each student has unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles, and I tailor my lessons accordingly to ensure they receive personalised attention and learn effectively. Through this approach, I have seen tangible improvements in my students’ results, including progress from E8 to B3 and from B3 to A1.
I have previously taught English and Creative Writing under volunteering projects as part of my school’s curriculum, which strengthened my ability to teach language skills such as comprehension, writing, and expression in an engaging and structured manner. In addition, I have taught Secondary 3 and 4 Combined Biology/Chemistry and Secondary 4 O-Level Biology, giving me extensive experience in guiding students through an academically rigorous syllabus.
Academically, I achieved an A in Knowledge and Inquiry (Language and Philosophy), an A in H2 Biology, an A in H2 Chemistry, and a Pass in H3 Biology at the A Levels (2022) from Hwa Chong Institution. I am currently a medical student at the National University of Singapore (NUS). My strong language foundation, structured teaching style, and patient mentoring approach allow me to support students effectively in developing their English skills.
