After graduating from AUT in New Zealand, I registered myself as a relief teacher in local schools there. I have 1 year experience of relief teaching in Primary Schools.

Prior to that, after moving back home to Singapore, I am now currently working with SINDA as a STEP tutor, teaching PSLE students. After giving them tuition, I notice that their understanding of concepts of different topics as well as their grades have improved.

Catherine has been teaching for the past 20 years. She went into full-time teaching upon completion of her Bachelor degree with King's College London and did her Master with the Royal Academy of Music and the King's College, all that while teaching in the Royal College of Music's Junior Classes & administering as a Professor Assistant back in King's College.

Back in Singapore, she is currently teaching mostly grade 8 to Diploma levels students and all her students are actually piano teachers as well. Catherine has a fair amount of students who pursued the performing as well as teaching diplomas and thus she is equally acquainted with both.

Catherine does not just focus on exam repertoires, but it greatly depends on the productivity of the student. If the student can manage, she will cover a lot of other repertoires and even reading and listening of music literacy extensively. Her objective is to guide the student patiently till he or she is musically mature and independent. Independent to hold a discussion stating her musical thoughts comfortably, musically mature to hold the right thoughts as such and exemplifies in one's playing.

I graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with a First Class Hons Degree in Music. Unlike the general preconception of music students, we do need to write essays besides performing. Therefore, I am confident of my English speaking and writing skills. I also have prior experience tutoring primary level subjects such as English, Math and Science. I am able to communicate well with students and am also flexible in adopting different teaching methods to suit the student. This would ensure the interest and attention of the students. I am currently teaching in a local polytechnic. Had been with the poly for the last 9 years. At the moment, I am tutoring a JC 2 HCI student. He is doing H3 Economics.
