I have taught in a local secondary school for an accumulative period of 4 years. There was a year whereby my school tasked me to teach 2 sec1 classes, One of the class obtained A for their PSLE Math paper, and the other class obtained C for their PSLE Math paper. Eventually, both classes did equally well, beating the rest of the sec1 classes on MSG.

I have one year experience teaching a primary 5 student in his math, science and english. Being a relatively good student, he has improved as well as maintained his results on a consistant record throughout the year.
I am hoping that I will be able to help more students who are weak in their math and science so that they can be able to enter the schools that they wish to enter.
I’m currently teaching in Metta Preschool now and is handling kids with special needs. I used to work as an Allied Educator in PLMGPS where I was assisting teachers in teaching students that are facing difficulties in their studies. I have also been a private tutor for 5 years.

I have a good deal of experience helping out my friends throughout my schooling years for I was strong in the Maths and Sciences.
In the former, I was a consistent A* student in primary school leading to the PSLE, got my A1s in secondary school before I went to the 4-year Integrated Programme (VJC) scoring my A1s in IP leading to a H2 A in my A Level seating.
I have also assisted my neighbour's son who was in Sec 2 NA in Math and helped me improve from failing in Math to getting As and Bs in his examinations.

Experience
I'm teaching in Edgefield Secondary and currently teaching only Physics. But I'm able to teach Chemistry too.
1. Experienced in both Express and Normal Academic Physics(SPA) and Science(Physics) syllabus. Also proficient in E-Math, A-Math and Chemistry for 'O' and 'NA' syllabus.
2. Been teaching for almost 8 years.
The main issue faced by students in Physics stems from poor conceptual understanding and a lack of exposure to a variety of questions. Currently, there is a clear trend towards more application-based and conceptual questions, more qualitative than quantitative questioning.
Self-study has only a limited effect on a student's understanding and may perpetuate misconceptions due to a lack of guidance from school teachers and/or incorrect methods picked up from peers. Thus, the 'need' for proper supervision. This unfortunately is how competitive the educational landscape has become, and will continue to be for decades ahead due to Singapore's strategic focus on human capital.
I use ICT tools in my profession as an MOE teacher to enable students to visualize concepts taught as Physics goes beyond just mathematical formulae. Indeed, proper appreciation of the subject matter requires a student to have a mental picture of the relationships between math and physical phenomenon. Once this foundation has been laid, the student can then build on it and handle higher-order questions. More importantly, the student will come to enjoy Physics and how it can be used to better our environment instead of treating it as just another examinable subject.
I have worked with both high-ability students targeting distinctions and weaker students who have had constant struggles to pass even from lower secondary. Differentiated techniques are needed to push these students to maximize their potential, but more importantly, to develop their mind in their learning of Physics and how it applies to their world.
