I have one year experience teaching principles of accounting to a group of secondary 3 students. They were initially very poor at the subject, but after my tuition sessions, they gain interest in the subject and subsequently went on to be among the top of their class.

I took accounting during my degree (Bachelor of Business - Marketing & Management), and scored a high distinction in that subject (>85%). I graduated at the top of my cohort in 2008.

My interest was always in business and being strong with numbers comes naturally to me.

I've always have the passion of a teacher/coach, even during my school days in secondary school, I took on the role of a peer tutor, where I gave my time to help my fellow students improve in their studies.

Derek started teaching maths tuition when he was an undergrad at NUS in 2005. He is now a full-time tutor coaching Sec School, JC and IP students. Besides conducting small-group tuition at Bukit Panjang, he also teaches private tuition and larger classes in Bishan. Having taught many students over the years, he believes that inspiring and motivating them is just as important as imparting mathematical concepts to them.
