I believe in doing more than teaching of subject alone. In my tutoring exp, I give coaching in terms of mindset change and motivations in addition to teaching the subject alone. Very much catering to the needs of every child. Feedback is given to child and parent every session.

Over the past 2 years, I have tutored at least 5 boys and 1 girls to hit their target during PSLE.

Example: a boy from ACS J who came to me with border line pass in his p5 result to achieve his A during his PSLE Maths, a boy from Si Mei area who failed badly in p5 and had achieved a B in Maths during PSLE etc.

I also teach other levels such as creative writing and comprehension strategies to my P3/4 pupils. My pupils express that they are more confident in answering comprehension questions (updated syllabus) and express themselves better in their composition writing.

Moreover, I'm good at handling lower primary pupils where I make my lessons fun and engaging for them such as Grammar/ Vocabulary/ Maths games. I'm able to prepare my lower primary pupils in terms of their reading, writing, listening, speaking (Show and Tell) etc.

Tutoring is my passion. It gives me great comfort to see my students to improve in their studies and gain confidence in tackling with challenges head on. As I have been teaching for quite some time now, I have had a wide array of students with different academic inclinations. Some of them were highly motivated learners who understood all concepts immediately while others were initially distracted and had a hard time grasping concepts. However, from experience i have seen that a student's real potential cannot be judged from their current results. Once the weak students were given the proper help (lessons that were tailored to their understanding patterns) my weaker students eventually went on to get distinctions too. My goal is always to motivate the student to develop a deep understanding of what they are being taught, and learn the value in its application eventually in their lives. I am currently teaching lower primary students from primary 5 to 6 at a volunteer center, and I have been teaching them math and english subjects for around 6months. These students are from low income and difficult families and have very little interest in studying, hence it really takes time and patience to teach them. But overtime my students have shown some improvement in their understanding of the question, since we give them a mini quiz at the end of the month. My interest lies in math and I like to teach concepts of a math question to students and find different ways to solve a question, rather then simply giving them a model answer or fixed structure to follow.
