I am a nineteen-year-old female who just graduated from Hwa Chong Junior College after taking A Levels in 2015, and am looking for an opportunity to tutor primary and secondary school students to prepare them for their exams.

As the elder sister of a Primary Four boy whom I tutor regularly, I believe that I have the necessary patience and dedication in ensuring that my students achieve their desired grades. Apart from attaining A* in English and Math in my PSLE in 2009, I topped the level in English in 2008 (P5) and 2009 (P6), and was also a finalist for the Marshall Cavendish Budding Writers in 2009. In secondary school, I was consistently in the top 90th percentile for English, and eventually achieved an A1 for English in O Levels in 2013. As such, I believe I am able to help my student improve his/her command of the language and achieve the same level of academic success.

In my first year of JC, I returned to my secondary school twice a week to tutor my Secondary Four juniors various subjects before they took their O Levels, and they have indicated a better understanding after I went through concepts with them. As a student myself, I am able to look at complex problems from a student's point of view and explain them in multiple ways that will be easily understood.

I am willing to go the extra mile, be it in dedicating extra time after tuition sessions to clear doubts or to revise the concepts. I am also willing to craft essay questions (for English and the Humanities subjects) and personally mark them while providing detailed feedback. I will remain accessible for my students to ask for help outside of tuition sessions, and am confident that their grades will see improvement.

I have 2 years experience of teaching tuition thus far. Taught home tuition pri 3 math, pri 6 sci and math, sec 2 math, sec 4 phy and even tuition centre sec 1 sci as well as pri sch math as well. The students are all able to produce good results. My teaching method would be to ensure that the students understand the fundamentals and basic concepts of each chapter/section before moving on to the next. After which, he or she will be ready to start on ten year series/ other school papers. I will then go through the papers they have did with them, making sure that they know the mistakes they have made and clear any doubts. With more practice and aid along the way, i believe my students will be able to improve in their grades. I will do my best to impart any knowledge and studying method i have to them.
