I am a Graduate from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I have experience teaching Primary Level students in English, Math and Science. My specialty is Mathematics for Primary to Secondary Level.

I prefer to understand the child's weakness and learning capacity before administering the appropriate methods to enhance his learning process. I impart personal-crafted techniques to students to invoke critical thinking and tackle questions step-by-step in the most efficient way.

My typical lesson goes in an organized flow from recapping questions to strengthen understanding, to topical learning, to attempting questions to answers evaluation and explanation. I will bring in fun in learning by infusing different ways of learning in the class in varied times to liven up the lesson.

I have scored consistently grades in the A range in Mathematics since young and have developed unique ways of attempting different types of questions in my own interpretation which I can pass on to the student.

Lessons are holistic in nature and encompasses aural training, sight-reading, musical appreciation, technique, theory and repertoire with an aim towards independence, confidence, and developing musicality. Josephine’s students ranged from beginners to diploma students and were winners and finalists in : - Singapore Piano and Violin Competition (Semi-finalists)
- Performer’s Festival (SMTA), (Gold) Her students were successful participants of the OMWPA 2016 (Overseas Masters Winter Piano Academy) held in UK, Yehudi Menuhin and had masterclasses with great pianists and tutors such as Andrew Ball, Douglas Finch, Mikhail Kazakevich, Anthony Hewitt, Murray McLachlan and Melanie Spanswick. Josephine also plays accompanist to students in instrumental examinations and performances and is also an active member of the Hong Kong CTABRSM Alumni and travels frequently to Hong Kong for music exchanges.

I have never give tuition to anyone before. But, I taught many of my classmates mathematics and combined science (physics & chemistry) and their results improved from C6/D7 to B4.

I am really keen on teaching and my strongest subject is mathematics. I would prefer to start teaching from primary school children or lower secondary. I believe I would be able to be a good tutor if I am given a chance to.
