2002-2007 taught GP and PW at Yishun JC 2008- present: fulltime GP home tutoring. A gamut of results, but generally when tutees were willing to work, grade improvement of 2-4 was evident. The difference in improvement of grades, if any, emphatically depends on attitude of tutees, from experience. I provide relevant readings and practice that individual tutees may need. My emphasis is on skills (eg careful analysis and language competency) over and above style (although for the very strong I did and will focus on that).

I have experience as a personal home tutor as well as a tutor handling a class of secondary school students.

As a personal home tutor, I gave tuition to a primary 6 girl for English, Math and Science and she scored A* for all those subjects which earned her a place in Raffle Girls.

As a tutor handling classes, I have 2 years experience as a Tutor for Mendaki teaching Secondary 3 - 5 students math and science (physics and chemistry). After tutoring them, all students who previously failed their math and sciences managed to pass those subjects in their final exams.

My teaching style is to help my students build their foundation concepts, conquer their homework, then master exam questions.

Having taught many students from Primary 3 to Pre-U 3, I realised the developmental phase of each student is different. For example, a lower secondary student may be more motivated and matured when compared to an upper secondary student. Nevertheless, my goal has always been to assist all my students to achieve their academic and non-academic targets.

Every student whom I have taught improved in their studies by at least 1 grade and built their self-confidence.

I have also taught students with special needs. These experiences are especially rewarding for me because not only do they become confident persons, they also help others around them.

I just graduated in 2016 from Innova Junior College hence I have only slight experience tutoring my relatives without any cost incurred. I have taught 2 of my relatives which were both in upper secondary, a mix of both Science and Maths. Most of the time they would approach me with regards to their homework in which they are not able to solve certain questions and ask certain topics that they are unsure of. I would guide them through the questions and make them re-do these questions by themselves so as to ensure that they full grasp the concepts applied in these questions. Furthermore, during the lessons, after going through topics (eg. Matrices), I would let them try out basic questions and then tougher ones upon seeing progress. I would frequently quiz the concepts or formulas taught to test their understanding & ability to apply the appropriate concepts or formulas to the relevant questions.
