Experience
Over 9 years teaching experience in Chemistry, ESS and Biology, have taught in tuition centres, groups, 1-1 both physically and online.
NUS B.Sc (Hons) in Chemistry with Specialisation in Environmental Chemistry, minor in Geosciences and Translation.
Received official training in IBDP Chemistry under the Official IB Category 2 Chemistry Teacher Training Workshop on New IB Syllabus.
Certificate from University of British Columbia, graduated from Energy, Environment and Sustainability course.

Teaching Style and Material Preparations:
I provide my own materials where I will guide students to fill in the blank spaces given in my notes (with key prompts available). This is so they will know what comes before and after in the learning sequence.
I also tend to ask many questions which will be crucial in prompting their thinking process and arrive at the correct conclusion.
IBDP Teaching Experience:
I have taught IB Chemistry in my alma mater - ACS Independent (employment letter available as proof).
Currently hired in one of the top reviewed centres in Singapore and I am the overall IB Chemistry HL/SL Head, overall ESS head and editor for IB Chemistry & ESS teaching materials.
Received Training in Chemistry under the Official IB Category 2 Teacher Training Workshop on New IB Syllabus
I have also taught more than 250 IB Chemistry students from all over the world over the past 8 years, and had a high rate of 6&7 of 85%, more than double of the international average. In 2021 and 2022, more than 90% of my students obtained a 7 in the tuition centre I teach (each year with enrolment of about 35 - 40 students).
I have also held a 20-lesson long workshop for IB Chemistry students all over the world who were sitting for the May 2021 Exam Session (Facebook group and materials available as proof).
I have taught 20 ESS students before (this is a subject with really small candidature quantity). All have gotten 6 or 7s in the end improving from 5 or below. I've had students from UWC, Tanglin Trust, HCIS, AIS. I have had many more students abroad too, from countries like Germany, UK, UAE, and Taiwan.
My focus is mainly on
1. integration of topics and concepts, connecting between different topics in preparation for long response questions.
2. Tackling data based questions, identifying and analysing data and linking data to textbook knowledge.
A Level Teaching Experience:
Currently a JC H2 Chemistry tutor teaching about 40 Students (3 classes) in one of the top reviewed Chemistry centres in Singapore.
I am also involved in management of JC Chemistry enrolment and material preparations.
More than 80% of my students have achieved A or B in the past, with about 70% A grade, almost double of national average.
IGCSE Teaching Experience:
Currently an international school IGCSE and A Level Biology and Chemistry teacher.
I have taught IGCSE Coordinated Sciences for more than 6 years, and more than 80% of students have achieved A* so far. All 100% of students achieved at least A.
My IGCSE experience encompasses both group and 1-1 settings.
I am currently working with a renowned abroad-studies tuition centre in Taipei for online teaching and learning, and I'm a biology, math and chemistry specialist.
Singapore GCE O Level/IP Teaching Experience:
Previously taught more than 100 students over the past 8 years of teaching, more than 80% have achieved A2 or above for Chemistry and Biology in their O Level/ IP Sec 4 EOY.
I have also held a Paper 1 workshop for O Level Chemistry students in 2021 just before their O Level Paper 1, with more than 30 students participating in the 2-day workshop (Video recording available as proof)
Currently teaching more than 40 upper Secondary Chemistry students in a top-reviewed centre in Singapore. I am also involved in the editing work of IP materials.
AP Teaching Experience:
Have taught more than 20 AP students from Singapore American School and Stamford American International School, with all achieving at least 4 out of 5, and more than 75% achieved full 5 points.
Currently working online with a top reviewed Taiwanese academy centre on AP & IB assignment, and have taught many students from Taipei American School, Singapore American School, as well as many students sitting for AP from the United States of America.
