I was an NIE-trained, ex-MOE teacher. I taught in St. Andrew's Junior College (2006-2012) and Dunman High School (2014-2015) and I was the Subject Head from 2010-2012. I have also been teaching private tuition since 2010, and have taught about 9 GP students, 15 O-level English students, and adult beginners. I am a patient and flexible tutor who helps student to systematically achieve good results and distinctions for their A levels or O levels. I worked from 2017 -2019 at Smile Asia, a Singapore language-school that specialises in Japanese students, where I teach English and Chinese. I have taught expatriates, businessmen, housewives, and children from the age of 10 to teenagers. I have also taught Chinese to foreigners (2 Thais, 5 Japanese, and 3 Americans) - and helped them to pass the HSK exam at various levels, or to gain proficiency in using the language. My degree in linguistics and translation (I am still a freelance translator now, translating between English and Chinese) puts me in a good position to explain the nuances in Chinese pronunciation (which is the hardest part for most non-native speakers) and grammar.
