I worked as a part-time tutor for about 3 years, from 2017 to 2019. I tutored students in the subjects of Chinese, mathematics, and the sciences with structured lesson plans to improve their academic grades, adapting my teaching style to meet the learning needs of individual students. Personally, I believe that apart from teaching students what to learn, it is even more important to teach them how to learn, as the learning skills will go on to benefit the students in the long-run. On the more pragmatic side, I also take pride in my ability to raise my students' grades and allowing them more time to pursue excellence in their co-curricular activities and hobbies. I have taught about 5 students from various levels (e.g., pri, sec, and jc) on a one-to-one basis, covering a range of subjects such as Chinese, English, mathematics, and the sciences. Also, I am a psychology undergraduate with an extensive portfolio of internship and volunteer experience in working with clinical populations, which I believe gives me an edge over the other tutors when it comes to working with children with special needs. Furthermore, I was put on the Dean's list in 2020, and I have written multiple online articles and a children's book for various psychological organisations.

I have completed my A-levels at National Junior College and am waiting for my results. I have one year of experience in guiding various primary and secondary school students in different subjects. I also guide my younger sibling in studies and have helped to achieve consistent As. With these experiences I would like to become a part time tutor. In National Junior College, I am in the Integrated Programme. For my IP results (year 4) I have received A+ (above 85) for all sciences: biology, chemistry, physics I have received A for math I have taken Higher Tamil for which I did O levels and have gotten A1 with distinction in oral. Currently I am also taking H2 Tamil Language and Literature at A-levels for which I got A in prelims.

I was teaching Chinese in East view primary school and I been giving private Chinese tuition for 11 years I have 3 years of experience teaching in school for Primary 1 to 6 levels, and 10 years of tutoring experience, coaching students from Primary, Secondary and JC levels. Being trained in National Institute of Education (NIE) for primary school Chinese language education, I am confident in teaching pupils from Primary 1 to 6. Having more than 10 years of teaching experience, I can identify the general difficulties pupils faced in learning Chinese to craft out suitable lesson plans and execute them. Through various teaching strategies, I can help pupils improve their communication skills, build confidence in learning Chinese and ultimately cultivate an interest for the language. After coaching a Pri 5 boy, his Chinese grade improved from D to B in his PSLE result. A Sec 4 boy had obtained B3 for Chinese 'O' level, after 4 years of coaching with me, from initial grade C6 in Sec 1 with no interest in the language. A Sec 4 girl was able to achieve A2 for 'O' level Higher Chinese, despite getting only B3 for 'O' level Chinese attempted in Sec 3. I was referred to her by her friend when my student was in Sec 4, after getting her 'O' level Chinese result.
