Tutoring Profile - 2 years of tutoring experience since graduating from JC - Specialises in teaching Mathematics to Primary school students - Up-to-date with syllabus - Taught Mathematics under a volunteering initiative to underprivileged primary school students during JC for their PSLE, tutored 5 students and their grades improved by 2-3 grades within 3 months Teaching Strategy: I would teach the concepts needed for different topics and let students attempt the questions. After marking, I would compile a list of common mistakes that are made and a summary of the common exam questions asked for the various chapters for students to refer and revise accordingly nearing to their examinations. After teaching the concepts, I will focus on letting the students attempt past year papers under timed conditions so that they can train themselves to complete questions quickly. Furthermore, exam papers are quick ways to point out the chapters that the student needs more help in, and if needed be, the sessions would be concentrated on those chapters, so that the overall grade goes up eventually. Homework is a given, as Mathematics require consistent practice and effort put in, in order to ace the examinations. Nearing examinations, I would usually give my students one exam paper as homework and go through in the next session. My help extends beyond the tuition session, and students can text me to ask me for help regarding math questions that they face difficulty in.
