Have been teaching 1-1 mathematics when I was a student back in junior college. The students that I have taught have improve significantly. I have 3 years of experience giving private tuition to upper secondary students and jc students.
My pedagogy for teaching is to explain difficult concepts by using relatable analogies for students to understand. I have had much experience teaching weaker students who’ve come from failing grades, and I’ve taken a patient, yet stern approach when it comes to helping them achieve the grades they want. Aside from that, I strongly believe that what’s most important in this education journey is not what grades the student achieve, albeit important, but instead that they put in their best effort.
My students have went from a failing grade to an A2 grade for their national exam. One testimony would be a student I had in the year of 2021. She was taking her O levels that year and had approached around May, with an F grade (39%) for her pure chemistry. With my help and her immense hard work, she eventually managed to achieve a B3 (68%) for her prelims, and an A1 for her O levels.
I absolutely love teaching, and to me, it has always been about finding a way to give back to the society. I am an extremely devoted tutor who compiles and creates all of his notes and question packs. I will strive to give my students my 200% and to show them that achieving the grades they want is never impossible.

I am very patient and willing to go the extra mile. I am avaliable anytime through Whatsapp and have flexible schedule should there be any changes. Currently a undergrad at NUS computer science, I hope to use my free time to tutor others.
I believe in "practice makes perfect". I will build a strong foundation by going through concepts and clarifying misunderstandings so students will not be confused. After the foundation is build, I will go through past year papers and assessment books to identify common questions and things to look out for so the student will have plenty of experience before the exam.

Teaching method - I teach students to be proactive in their approach to a subject. To do this, I emphasise less on blind practice and/or memorisation and more on understanding of concepts through visualisation, simple analogies, bite-sized piece information, understanding the bigger picture, and application of concepts in various situations. My teaching principle is that less is more ie one does not have to tax him/herself with too many practices but rather establishing his/her basics and building up from there. That way, he/she could tackle questions with varying difficulties actively instead of passively.
