I graduated from SJI IB. I took Biology, Chemistry and Economics as my HL subjects. I’m currently studying in NUS Medicine. I’ve been tutoring for about 3.5 years now — I’ve had 5 students, one Primary 6 student and 4 IB students. My most recent student was a Y5 student from SJI, for both HL Chemistry and HL Biology. She was initially having trouble passing her term tests and mid years but got a 6 for EOY examinations. I also had a student I tutored from Y5 to Y6 in HL Economics, he improved from a 5 to a 7 for the IB exam. I have also tutored 2 year 1 IB students in HL Chemistry and Economics, guiding them through their syllabus and preparation for tests, improving from grade 5 to 6s and 7s in their end of year examinations. I also assisted one of them in their Chemistry IAs, having done an Extended Essay in Chemistry myself, guiding him through the planning and methodology.

I have been teaching Primary school students for the past 7 years. I also taught in Mighty thinkers from 2013 to 2016 and then convert to private tutor. Science/Greenridge PS, 60+ to 90+, Math/concord PS, learning support class to 55(End year exam). English/Choa chu Kang PS, AL7 to AL5. As a 1-to-1 tutor, I believe that the lesson conducted should be cater to that particular student. Tutor should motivate the students and work along with the students. I am a final-year undergraduate studying Computer Science at NTU. My educational qualifications include IGCSE (O level equivalent) where I secured A* (the highest grade) in maths, additional maths, and sciences. For my post-secondary education, I attained the IB Diploma (A level equivalent) where I excelled in Maths, Physics, and Economics. As for my tutoring experience, I was working part-time at Tutopiya for 1 year where I coached a secondary 2 student in IGCSE (O level equivalent) physics, and a secondary 3 student in IGCSE coordinated sciences. I usually teach with presentations and my tablet to illustrate and solve problems with the tutee in real-time. I make sure that the tutee is grasping the knowledge I am sharing with them by conducting short pop quizzes throughout the lesson. I am also very relaxed and friendly so I try to make the lesson as fun and engaging as possible for my tutees, as I was in their position not many years ago.
