I'm currently teaching in Mavis Tutorial Centre. Schools taught: Bukit View Sec, 2000-2003. Chua Chu Kang Sec, 2012 With 20 years of experience under her belt, NIE-trained as a Secondary English teacher, and a graduate from NUS with a B.A. in English Language and Psychology, Ms Deanne is a very knowledgeable and capable English teacher and tutor. She is keen to share her love for English Language and composition writing with her students, ranging from lower Primary to O'level. Her delivery is lively with a great dose of humour, as students tend to remember concepts better when learning is fun. At the same time, she ensures her students know how to apply the concepts taught. Students are given plenty of encouragement to boost their confidence in using the language. Generally, it is observed that many of her students improve in their attitude towards English. They then become more diligent in learning English, leading to improved grades for the subject in school. Ms Deanne is not only caring but technically proficient. At times, she may utilise edutech platforms to enhance the learning experience.

Throughout secondary school, I have experience tutoring a few of my friends maths, history, geography, English, science and several have pointed out I have a flair for teaching. They credited their A grades to me. I’m an IP JC student, and hope to become a teacher in the future. I’ve also tutored for volunteer work for special needs primary school children as well as teacher assistant in ACS (P). In JC2, I tutored a Sec 4 N level student for maths, biology and chemistry, and helped his math in particular improve from F to B in one term.

I have volunteered in a learning centre for underprivileged kids for half year (weekly). The children are overseas children that are unable to enrol into local schools due to educational gap. Hence we teach them until they are able to get into a local school. 1 of the kid I taught successfully enrolled into a local school.

I have privately tutored 15 students across 3 years Students are all from neighbourhood schools. I’ve had students go from failing their EOY to A2 grades for their WAs. One kid mugged his way into the top class. Others have consistently kept their grade at a1-b3 for the EOYs My Grades as shown: A Levels: 85RP O Levels: L1R5 8 points The students have shown significant improvements in Maths and Sciences in both national and school examinations. I am extremely well versed with the syllabus and good at understanding how younger students think through my vast experience with them in the past. I will also do my best to cater to their learning style so that they obtain the best quality of learning possible. They have shown significant improvement in their results after I have tutored them, and have continued to excel in the crucial examinations. Grade jumps from C6>A1 is common. Will add more free time as required if student requires more guidance.
