I have 2 years of teaching experience since 2021. I have taught a wide variety of students and have taught Primary level English, Math and Science, Secondary level 2 English and A Level H2 History. I have taught Primary 3 and 4 Science for a year and my students have either maintained minimally at 90% or have improved till 80%. I also have experience in teaching Primary 5 Math, my female student improved from 64% at the start if the year to 86% for her year end examination, my ADHD male student found an increased interest in the subject and improved from hating Math, failing at low 30% to improving to a 60% at the end of the year. I have also taught Primary 1 to 3 English to multiple students, ranging from those international students with no English background to Singaporean students who struggle to find a breakthrough in that subject. International students wise, I have managed to pull a male grade 5 CIS student from foundation class to the mainstream class through the WIDA programme. I have also assisted and helped many international Chinese students to get into local school through guiding them to excel in the Cambridge English Qualification programme. My best two students had no English background and used merely 3 months to pass the test with flying colours. I have also taught IGCSE core syllabus math for grade 9 and 11 to a pair of brothers from XCL Academy and they improved from failing their tests to getting up to 60% over 4 months. For the local context, I have assisted in easing young students through the transition from K2 to P1 by bridging their gaps in grammar and working on their oral skills. I have also tutored multiple Primary 2 to 4 students, with most of them improving to a minimum of 60% for WAs. My teaching methodology emphasises greatly on being goal-oriented, by setting targets with students to understand their desire and coming up with plans to work together and achieve their goals. Besides being goal-oriented, I also believe in being encouraging but firm, I am a strong advocate for nurturing a student's love for learning and grooming their proactiveness, thus I prefer to not beat down their confidence and like to communicate with students in a more relaxed atmosphere. However, I do believe in setting boundaries as a tutor and will stand firm when needed.

Hi!! I am keerthana and I am currently pursuing Accountancy in NTU. I have always been very passionate about sharing my knowledge to people and hence I really do enjoy tutoring. Previously, I was tutoring for Primary and secondary school English, Mathematics and other humanities subjects under a recognised tuition center. However, I had to stop working due to educational reasons and would like to start tutoring again now. The one year experience I had through previously tutoring has greatly helped me learn how to connect with students as well as deliver the content in a manner that they would learn the most efficiently in. I hold a Bachelor of Health Care degree from Centria University of Applied Sciences, Finland. Additionally, I have obtained a Singapore local diploma in Chinese Language Teaching (Mandarin) (460 hours) and the International Baccalaureate Educator Certificate for the Primary Years Programme (IBEC-PYP). In terms of language proficiency, my Mandarin is quite standard, as evidenced by my LEVEL II, GRADE A achievement in the Spoken Mandarin Proficiency Test held by China's National Language and Writing Work Committee. I have a lot of experience in working with different age groups and proficiency levels. I excel in creating a welcoming, comfortable learning environment that fosters positive student participation. I used to work at Xuelin Learning Hub, and gained extensive experience teaching students of various levels (N2-S1) following the Singapore syllabus. My expertise covers pinyin, vocabulary, listening skills, reading comprehension, oral skills, and writing composition. As a private Chinese tutor, my students include Chinese-American, Korean, and Indian backgrounds. This diversity enriches the learning experience and enables me to customize my teaching approach to suit each student's unique needs.
