I graduated with a Master's and Bachelor Degree from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National University of Singapore (NUS) respectively, and was professionally trained as a MOE teacher by National Institute of Education (NIE). Being a current MOE school teacher with 24 years of teaching experiences in Chinese Language, I am grounded with good knowledge about the Singapore MOE Chinese & Higher Chinese Language syllabus. In addition, my yearly involvement at the national PSLE marking exercise gave me an edge over the understanding of how the national papers are pitched and marked with precision. Through my teaching stint, I have taught in many schools with students of varied profiles. I have students from Kindergarten to Secondary school students from local Moe mainstream schools, of which some are with mild special needs. Being very patient and systematic in my teaching approaches, my forte is to be able customise teaching methods according to my students' needs and teach them the key skills sets that could lead them progress steadily in mastering the language and handling their examinations. Being effectively bilingual in both English & Mandarin gave ma an advantage in my communication with my students, especially those from an English-speaking background and of a slower learning ability. I believe every child can learn and excel, so long as he/she is led in the right direction with sustainable interest in learning.

I am currently a NUS undergraduate and have been tutoring students taking A level H2 Biology for 3 years. I will run through the general concepts according to the learning outcomes (LOs) of the syllabus. This will include addressing of common misconceptions, introducing commonly tested questions for that topic. After this we will do topical practices to improve on application. Nearer to exams, i will do test and review for each topic, and emphasising on timed practice as most students tend to struggle with finishing bio papers. We will also drill our answering techniques ie how to approach different question types, understanding qn demand, this is especially so for essay qn.
