Experience
I have been teaching Chinese as a private tutor for about 11 years
I have taught Primary school level Maths for 5 years. I used to teach P2 Maths in a tuition centre. Currently I am teaching P5 Maths as a private tutor.
I am well versed in the syllabus and know how to teach Maths using the model method. After guiding my students to practice on various topics using assessment books, I will come out with worksheets to test them, in the form of homework to give them more exposures and assess how much they have mastered the topic.
For the mastering of the essential 词语, I will spend time explaining to them 1st, then test them. This way has proven to help many of my students picked up those essential words or terms and thus can handle Paper 2.
For Primary 1 & 2 Chinese, I will cut out individual essential 字 that can be used to form 词语。 After explaining to them these 词语, I will test them again before giving them to my student to paste onto an exercise book. From Primary 3 onward, I have the essential phrases of each chapter mixed up in a crossword puzzle for students to find. In such a way, students get to reinforce their memories in these phrases and be good at it.
For composition, I teach them the 3 basic structures - opening, connections & how to come up with creative endings, supplemented with 好词好句. I am especially strong in teaching them how to write creative endings.
For comprehension, I will teach them how to FIND the answers by using the key words in the questions. I have a set of notes to guide my students in answering the last question in the comprehension too. This set of notes can be used up to secondary school.
I created a lot of notes to help my students systematically pick up the language. I can also design worksheets to cater to their needs.
I also have a reward system whereby if they are attentive during lessons and do their homework, there will be something for them after they collected enough stickers.
Many of my students, who started with an attitude of no interest in Chinese, become interested and thus score well. Example one of my P4 students, when he scored 73 mark for SA1 exam, told me it is good enough as he has no interest in Chinese. His result in SA2 improved to 86 marks! This made him eligible to do higher Chinese the following year. Another P5 student who had 'given up' on Chinese, score a 'B' from his usual 'C' after I taught him for 6 months. Now this student is so highly motivated that his next target is a distinction. Such change in attitude can be achieved through proper coaching.
I have my own notes and worksheets too.

Past results:
1) 2019 - I had a P6 student from Nanhua Primary, whom I only started teaching in June, of course it was 2 x per week (my P2 student's older brother). In 4 months time, I helped him to jump from fail to a "B" grade. This is made possible because I know the syllabus well and have notes that are catered to the requirements of the PSLE examination.
2) 2017 - Another P4 student from Shuqun Primary had her result jumped from Band 3 to Band 2 within 6 weeks, she continued with me all the way to P6, then rested for a year. End of last year, her mum informed me to reserve 2 slots for her and her sister, where they will join me again by Dec, thus now I am happily teaching she and her sister, who is in Sec 3. It's like meeting up with old friends every time we have lesson.
3) 2015 - A P4 student from Chua Chu Kang Primary that scored 73 then, after 1 year of coaching, scored 86 and made it to Higher Chinese class. In 2017, his prelim results were A for standard Chinese, Pass with merit for Higher Chinese. He was so confident that he continues with Higher Chinese in secondary school.
I have testimonials from parents too.
